Man Utd use the ballot system for club members for a few games each season

cue
*that's not what I meant
*that what you said
*look at my earlier poast
*you said they don't use it all
*you meant for every game
*no, just some games

There you go, I've just saved you both an hour.

Re: Today's Attendance 56,952
I've done it for you.

For 4 (FOUR) of the 19 home games you have to go to ballot.

The rest of the time you do not.

We do it for all games, thereby conning people into having to sign up for membership even to ballot for games which won't sell out at all.

Re: Today's Attendance 56,952
The tickets have been sold and that's what is counted. It's up to the ticket holder to decide to attend the match. We already know that some st holders are not happy so are not going.

Re: Today's Attendance 56,952
Be a chap and copy and paste the article on Man Utd's ticketing website that says home ticket purchase for members is via a ballot, OtB.

You know the rest.

Because the volume now of empty seat's is embarrassing.

B6NY - they must be E20's tickets. Newham have had zero for the Prem (as was said before the season started).

Re: Today's Attendance 56,952
In recent times attendance has always been based on tickets sold, hasn't it?

Not sure why all of a sudden it's an issue?

B6NY B 3:29 Mon Dec 19
Re: Today's Attendance 56,952
Also, whoever said it - there are no Newham seats for PL games.

Spoke to a group on the concourse v Arsenal at HT, they said got their tickets through Newham. All had some American football/or baseball team hats on, towards the back about 20 of them all dressed the same.

No idea if they were telling truth, but 100% said through Newham.

Re: Today's Attendance 56,952
You'd best tell Man Utd and Ticketmaster then, because they think they do.

So you're either stupid, or a liar. As always Johnson, you choose which one you are as you are most certainly one of them.

We're different anyway, so it's not comparing like-for-like. Our circumstances are unique this season.

You're saying that paying for access to a ticket is a scam (read what you're saying - you are). You say that it's a ripoff to charge people for the right to try and buy a ticket. It has always been this way, they've just changed the method of actually getting a ticket - to make it fairer for more people. But you're just interested in bitching about whatever method they've used - just as we'd be having the opposite discussion now if they still did it the old way.

You'd expect that we'd still have the same number of members vying for tickets if they did it the old way - so they'd still be paying, it'd just be a matter of whoever got in before the website crashed.

I've got no idea what they'll do going forward, but this season they've decided that the fairest way is to ballot (which it is). They might decide that's too much hassle in future.

Also, whoever said it - there are no Newham seats for PL games.

On The Ball 2:37 Mon Dec 19

Not once have I said it should be a free-for-all, I even pointed out how Man Utd do it, a far bigger club with much more demand than us.

THEY DO NOT USE A BALLOT.

Actually, a member can buy up to 4 (FOUR) tickets on their membership for some fixtures, not pay £40 for each of those people to go in a ballot.

So, why are you lying that they operate a scam ballot like we do?

You're either stupid, or a liar. As always OtB, you choose which one you are as you are most certainly one of them.

They sold 56, 952 tickets.
.
Are you claiming the club are lying? - YES - they give them away, that's not selling.

Loads and loads of empty seats v Arsenal, in the Newham bit. Nothing to do with the covered seats, just empty's everywhere around the TBL and TBU. Is that a lie?

Do Arsenal do it?

Johnson 12:25 Mon Dec 19

Two adults could conceivably have spent £80 last season and got no tickets though. It's always a lottery when there's so much demand. It was never entirely down to your own endeavour, there was always luck involved.

No-one could ever call that a scam if you look at the facts. Obviously it doesn't suit everyone, but it's the fairest way in an unfortunate situation. Unless you're just looking to criticise the Club for every single thing, deserved or not.

Still, you think it should be a free-for-all for supporters of any team at 9am in England. That will definitely help the NY Hammers.

Granted though, there being less notice is unhelpful. I hope that will change.

And by the way - Man Utd do it (great example, btw). As do Tottenham. Others are implementing it soon. England have done it for years.

Re: Today's Attendance 56,952

It's not a scam though is it? They are still getting the benefits of being a member (discounts, gifts etc) and they also can go into the lottery of buying tickets. The membership at Upton Park, never guaranteed you a ticket for a game, it just gave you the chance to buy them before they went on general sale.

It's not that hard to work out and it's certainly not a scam. Even your beloved Tottenham are doing exactly the same thing this season.

Football is a business and it's been a long time since anyone gave a fuck about the fans.

Arsenal fans want Wenger out as he delivers bugger all in the way of title challenges, which they are paying the most expensive tickets in the world.

Shareholders earning a fortune off of the interest on their 300 million transfer kitty he never spends must fucking love him while he delivers CL footie and so on he goes.

Re: Today's Attendance 56,952
The membership scheme is bollocks really, especially for Hammers who now live abroad.

A colleagues brother in law is over at Christmas from New York state and wanted to try to get tickets for the Man Utd game, but was told unlucky by the club.

Appreciate he isn't a member, but I doubt he even knew he had to be.

Luckily for him, of my 20 pals who still have season tickets, only about 3 like the new stadium so I easily got him 4 tickets for him and his kids!
